Our Philosophy

  • At Paramount Osteopathy, we take a holistic approach to healthcare, treating the entire body rather than chasing symptoms. We focus on facilitating the health of one’s body through non-invasive manipulative therapy by aiding in and strengthening the framework of the body. Through personalized Osteopathic treatments, we promote optimal health and wellness for a multitude of dysfunctions and illnesses complementary alongside conventional allopathic medicine.

What is Osteopathy

  • Osteopathic treatment considers motion restriction, asymmetries, and mechanical imbalances in the body with the goal of facilitating optimal mechanics which in turn allows proper physiological function. This means that your visit will include a dynamic assessment of the way your body functions, followed by a treatment that is specific to your body’s needs and not to one single concern; Objective over subjective.

  • Treatment would include mechanical mobilization of hard and soft tissues to remove any restrictions that interfere with the proper physiological function of the body. Consideration of the body’s anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and bio-mechanical function with thorough palpation skills, allows the practitioner to be able to detect and treat these restrictions and lesion patterns. It is a holistic scientific approach to modern healing that aims at finding and treating the cause of illness rather than treating symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes. Osteopathic treatment is covered by most insurance plans. Please check with your insurance provider for more details.

During your first visit to Paramount Osteopathy, you will have an in depth conversation about your health history and any health concerns or questions you may have. We will then start your first treatment which includes a dynamic assessment of the way your body functions, followed by a treatment that is specific to your body’s needs and not specific to one single problem. Based on how the initial appointment goes, we will go over your treatment plan moving forward.

No. Osteopathic practitioners work with the body not against it. However that being said, depending on the constitution and health of the patient, and taking into account the dysfunction/illness that they may have, treatment can at times involve uncomfortable adjustments.

Unfortunately at this time our building is not equipped with the proper accessibility for anyone who is in a wheelchair.

Your initial appointment will be between 20 - 40 minutes which involves a health history discussion along with your first treatment. Each ongoing follow up appointment will be a treatment between 10 - 20 minutes.

We are located inside the Denture and Dental Hygiene building on 3 Lakeshore Road in St. Catharines. Keep an eye out for the giant red apple on the front lawn.

Remember everyone is different so this depends on what type of injury or illness you may have, how long it has been present, your age, health, lifestyle, occupation, and diet.

At this time we prefer if you reached out through one of our contact options. If you would like to book an initial appointment right away, you can use the "Book Initial" button at the top of our website.

Yes. We offer youth treatments at a discount.

"Any variation from the health has a cause, and the cause has a location. It is the business of the osteopath to locate and remove it (the cause), doing away with disease and getting health instead."
